I stumbled upon a fun questionnaire on The Ladies Historical Tea Society Blog, done by Rebecca Chamberlain. It turned out that Rebecca and I shared many things in common. I like questionaries like this because they give a view into the real person writing the blog.
1. What is your favorite thing to snack on while you’re blogging?
I’m usually drinking jasmine tea, which I am thoroughly addicted to.
2. What is one thing you wouldn’t want to live without?
Love and tea
3. Beach, Mountains, or Farm? Where would you live if you had a choice?
I would probably say farm but I’m terribly fond of the mountains, especially Asheville, NC. My dream place to live however would be in Fowey, which is a village in Cornwall, England. Daphne DeMaurier lived there. It is ancient coastal village, full of legends, ghosts and history.
4. What’s your least favorite chore/household duty?
I love to cook but not meals per se. I hate doing dishes.
5. Who do people say you remind them of?
I’ve heard Celine Dion, Julianne Moore and Nancy Pimental.
6. Prefer parties and socializing or staying home with the family?
I love parties and especially those with close friends. When I lived in New York, I went out every night. As I get older, I do become more of a homebody though. I love curling up with a book, hot tea and one of my cats.
7. What’s your all time favorite movie?
Pride and Prejudice(w/ Colin Firth) and Breakfast at Tiffanys, followed by My Fair Lady.
8. Do you sleep in your make-up or remove it like a good little girl every night?
I definitely remove it.
9. Do you have a hidden talent or a deep desire to learn something that you’ve never had a chance to learn? What is it?
Hidden talent would probably be singing. I sang in choir in school. When my husband and I met, we would sing out at coffee shops and in church. However, I like to sing, but hate to sing in front of others.
I would love to learn how to ice skate. I think it looks so graceful and elegant. However, I have horrible balance!
10. What’s one strange thing you’re really good at?
Dealing with cats.
11. What first attracted you to your spouse?
His jet black hair and bright blue eyes.
12. What is something you love to smell?
Lavender and most other herbs. Perrfumes by Aveda, Lolita Lempicka and anything Jasmine.
13. Tell something about you that you know irritates people.
I don’t stand up for myself enough. Also, I have a terrible habit of interrupting people when they speak. The reason I do this is because an idea pops into my head and I am afraid I will forget it if I don’t speak up.
14. When you have extra money, what’s the first thing you think to do with it?
I am very frugal, but I would probably spend it on tea, an antique tea cup, a facial or some pretty jewelry.
15. Are you a silent laugher or a loud laugher? What makes you laugh the hardest?
I am generally silent, but if something really hits me, I laugh very loud. Surprises make me laugh the hardest as well as British Comedy. 30 Rock makes me howl, especially the episode with Jennifer Aniston.
16. Where is your favorite place to shop?
New York! It doesn’t get any better than that! I also love Bath, England.
17. What’s one thing you’d do more often if you had more time?
Read
18. Are you a big spender or frugal?
Frugal
19. Who is your favorite character of all time?
Eliza Doolittle tied with Elizabeth Bennett
20. Would you want to be famous?
No, I love my privacy. That’s what I loved about living in New York, the getting lost in the crowd. The hardest thing about having my hat business is that I’ve been forced to put my name out there. I don’t feel comfortable talking about myself and having my name out there, but it goes with the territory. I just want to be a good designer, making great hats for my clients.
