Try wearing a small headpiece with veiling or feathers. Mini-top hats look great with a black tuxedo style pant suit or dress. A French style headpiece like Mademoiselle Colette looks great with a black mini-dress.
I wore the Marie Chantal to a 1940’s mystery tea last month and won first prize. What I enjoyed about wearing that hat was the fact that it was light and small. I’d forget that I was wearing a hat/headpiece.
The small hats/headpieces are all the rage. As always, people are going back to vintage styles. Wearing the smaller hats with veiling and feathers makes a fun statement.
