On Thursday nights, I always have a date with my husband to watch our favorite television show, “Ugly Betty”. It’s fun and always has a good lesson. Of course, the clothing is amazing. Watch carefully in the scenes filmed when Betty is talking to her Christina, her Scottish stylist friend. You will see some very cool hats.
Last night (November 22nd), the show opened at Bradford’s funeral. There were some great hats. The small navy hat with the chenille dot veiling worn by Amanda was very similar to my “Marie Chantal”, which is on the Couture page of my website. Christina wore a very cool black cloche with different size buttons sewn on the side as trim. And of course, Whilhelmina Slater, being the diva that she is, wore the biggest hat of all, a large black hat with veiling down over the eyes. The episodes are a visual feast for eyes and for me, an spiritual feast for the soul. That may sound strange, but read on.
What I love most about Betty Suarez is that she’s an individual. She knows she doesn’t fit into the world of Mode, but her dream is to be a writer. Betty is willing to do whatever she can to achieve that dream.
Her co-workers might not appear to outwardly like Betty, but deep down I think they admire her. She is her own person. Betty doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her because she is focused on her goals and family. She never forgets who she is or where she came from. At the end of the show, her family always ends up being much happier than the Meade family, who seemingly have it all.

Yes, the hat can be made custom. If you contact me, I’ll be happy to design a version for you.
