On today’s blog post, we highlight Johane of Luxury Afternoon Tea UK in London. Polly Singer Couture Hats is so proud to announce a new and exciting partnership with Luxury Afternoon Tea UK. Johane gave us a little bit of insight into the elegant world of afternoon tea. Johane, also known as JB, is a tea enthusiast and expert. Once she obtained managerial level in the afternoon tea industry, Johane decided it was time to study tea and the tea specialist, Jane Pettigrew, at the UK Tea Academy. This opened up a new world full of tea knowledge and inspiration for her. |
Johane has had afternoon tea all over the most reputable luxury venues in London. She explained that each time, she would try to use her professionalism and expertise to judge whether or not the price was worth it, but she said that frankly, a few of the times it was not, but she would just pay and never return. Afternoon tea is an expensive affair, and we know that what we pay does not only reflect the food. The atmosphere, service, and details for each food element, the overall concept, the tea company and their tea selection, the brand of the house champagne, the choice of the fine bone china, live music, and the staff knowledge is overall what makes the price up. |

Johane said that her favorite tea is Darjeeling, possibly a first flush. She says that it is incredibly smooth to drink, and she loves to drink it all day long. If she had to choose a specific tea brand, then she would choose Yuzu Temple by Mariage Freres, as the Yuzu green tea is just delightful. When asked what her favorite tea in London is, Johane had an interesting response. She explained that there is a specific afternoon tea for each and every individual out there. For instance, if you love art, you will go to the Rosewood Hotel. If you are into fashion, she recommends the Berkeley Hotel. If one loves a traditional afternoon tea, then the Claridges Hotel and Brown Hotel will do the part extremely well. If you have a limited budget, Johane says that you can have a first-class afternoon tea at the Kimpton Gitzroy Hotel for just £30. |

Johane went on to say that hotels usually have a tea lounge and tea is their main focus. Therefore, the quality they provide has to be the best. Johane claimed that restaurants that serve afternoon tea to fill up the quite periods between lunch and dinner are usually a total waste of money. |

Johane finished by saying that with her page, she really strives to provide the best possible tea experience for her followers. She chooses each venue carefully, and she makes each post full of content. By giving a virtual tour to people, beside her personal thoughts and judgments, Johane always leaves the last word to her followers should they wish to try afternoon tea in that specific venue.
